The Caterpillar and the Butterfly
This painting was so much fun. What inspired me was Richard Bach's quote
" what the caterpillar calls the end of the world...the Master calls a butterfly"
Isn't that the most beautiful saying? I used a background of gesso and let that dry. Then I layered upon layers of paint and texture. I used sharp edges to scrape the paint across the canvas. I used stamps, and stencils and bubblewrap, and netting and more scraping paint. I painted the flowers using craft paint and the small black daisy-like flowers on the bottom are rub-ons that I made into flowers which gave the painting more depth.

hopping down the bunnie trail..........
hippity hoppity, Easter's on its way
These little cuties were so much fun to make.....only thing, watch out for the barbed needles and the fingers!
I decided to do something about that, so an old pair of leather gloves with the fingers cut off and used as thimbles works like a charm. These bunnies were made from a needle felting kit bought at Mary Maxim. The kit includes a mold, roving and needles. I purchased Easter color roving extra to the kit and added sweaters, bonnets, buttons and bows. Must be Miss Potter coming out!

meet Amari, my newest babybud

is the theme for my latest canvas. I had recently completed a number of images and this one is a favourite, so...here she is.
Pink, flowers, hearts and sweetness went into this theme, just like a mother-to-be!!
This canvas is a mixed media painting. I used many layers for the background, doilies, paint techniques, stencils, stamps, and rub-ons to complete my "pretty-in-pink" canvas.

happily ever after
For the bride to be.......
I did this canvas for my niece who wanted to give one of my canvases to her future sister-in-law as a shower gift. I call this "happily ever after". The dress is made from the actual shower invitation paper, the letters are also cut from the invitation and I also included the groom's name...just because he is an important part of this celebration to!!!
This was a fun canvas, it was girlie and pink and flowery, I tried to make it as personal as possible, working with the bridal shower invite.

A friend will always tell you your face is dirty!!
That is very important, because only friends won't want you walking around looking like a mess.....
The little girl is my latest "bbd" design. She is a bit of a
"ragamuffin" but that is the best part of her. Her burlap dress and shaggy curly hair make up the theme for my latest canvas. I used paint, color pencils, staedtler pens, stamps and doodles of my own creation. This is so much fun....
